EMT bending calculator
Choose what you're trying to do, enter your measurements, and get the marks to put on the pipe, step by step.
How this is calculated
- Marks are measured from the end of the conduit. Offsets and saddles use the trade multipliers (1 ÷ sin of the angle) and shrink (tan of half the angle, per inch of depth).
- 3-bend saddles use the field multipliers of 2.5 (45° center) and 2 (60° center). The exact geometric values are shown next to them.
- Take-up and gain depend on the bender. Hand-bender defaults are the common published values. Larger sizes default to an estimate from the Chapter 9, Table 2 minimum radius. Use your bender's chart.
- Total bends between pull points can't exceed 360° (358.26). The calculator shows the degrees in each plan.
